In this fifth mantRam, Gurudevan is unequivocally
declaring Himself as an adwithin to the core just as shRee KRishNa bhagavAn and
VedavyAsa bhagavAn were. Before we get into that, let us see the meaning of the
words in this mantRam.
neeyallO
sRisTThiyum sRasTTA-
vAyathum
sRishTTijAlavum
neeyallO
daivamE sRishTTi-
kkuLLa
sAmagriyAyathum.
നീയല്ലോ സൃഷ്ടിയും സ്രഷ്ടാ-
വായതും സൃഷ്ടിജാലവും
നീയല്ലോ ദൈവമേ, സൃഷ്ടി-
ക്കുള്ള സാമഗ്രിയായതും.
വായതും സൃഷ്ടിജാലവും
നീയല്ലോ ദൈവമേ, സൃഷ്ടി-
ക്കുള്ള സാമഗ്രിയായതും.
It
should be recited as:
neeyallO
sRisTThiyum sRasTTAvAyathum sRishTTijAlavum
neeyallO
daivamE sRishTTikkuLLa sAmagriyAyathum.
നീയല്ലോ സൃഷ്ടിയും സ്രഷ്ടാവായതും സൃഷ്ടിജാലവും
നീയല്ലോ ദൈവമേ, സൃഷ്ടിക്കുള്ള സാമഗ്രിയായതും.
നീയല്ലോ ദൈവമേ, സൃഷ്ടിക്കുള്ള സാമഗ്രിയായതും.
neeyallO നീയല്ലോ = നീ + allayO അല്ലയോ = “You are”.
sRisTTiyum സൃഷ്ടിയും = sRishTTi സൃഷ്ടി+um ഉം സൃഷ്ടിയും = creation and = “the act of creation”.
sRasTTAvAyathum സ്രഷ്ടാവായതും = sRasTTAv സൃഷ്ടവ്+ Ayathum ആയതും = സ്രഷ്ടാവായതും = became
the creator and thus; “the Creator”.
sRishTTijAlavum സൃഷ്ടിജാലവും = സൃഷ്ടിജാലം+ഉം =
സൃഷ്ടിജാലവും = “the created”. The created
things; here, when we say created things; it includes each everything in this
universe and thus, we could say the “created Universe”.
neeyallO നീയല്ലോ = nee നീ + allayO അല്ലയോ = നീയല്ലോ = you are.
daivamE ദൈവമേ = O’ God, (here even
though the word used by Gurudevan is “God”, as mentioned in the interpretation
of the first mantRam the implication is the parabrHMam and we must take it as parabrHMam
only. The word “God” was probably used as the prayer was originally written for
use of young children and for them it may be difficult to comprehend the
meaning, rather the full implications of the word “parabrHMam”. However all grownups
should understand the difference between the words “God” and parabrHMam and it should
be taken as parabrHMam, which could be translated as “Oh God The Eternal” or “The Absolute”.
sRishTTikkuLLa സൃഷ്ടിക്കുള്ള
= sRishTTikk സൃഷ്ടിക്ക്+uLLa ഉള്ള = സൃഷ്ടിക്കുള്ള = the word meaning is “for creation”; which is actually
indication ‘the material used for creation’. The next word is very directly indicating
that.
sAmagriyAyathum സാമഗ്രിയായതും = sAmagri സാമഗ്രി + Ayathum ആയതും = സാമഗ്രിയായതും; സാമഗ്രി = material; ആയതും = become the material;
means, become “the material for Creation”.
When we translate this into English, the closest
we can get to is:
You are the act of Creation,
the Creator and Created (Universe),
Oh God 'The Absolute', You are even,
the Creator and Created (Universe),
Oh God 'The Absolute', You are even,
The Material for creation. [The word ‘God’ here
should be taken as braHMan].
Before we get into a detailed discussion it may be
better to keep in mind that, the sRishTTi (സൃഷ്ടി) Gurudevan referring here
is not the Creation we read in the Semitic Religions; More on that later.
